Initial Assessment (1.5 hours)
$285 – Toddlers and Preschool Children

Pay in advance
Parents who pay for 5 – 10 sessions in advance are eligible for a $5 discount* (*Not offered for fortnightly off-site school services)

Higher fees
Apply to all off-site services, complex diagnostic assessments (any age) and services covered under the FaHCSIA Helping Children with Autism and Better Start for Children with Disabilities Initiatives.
Cancellations
Our clinic has a strict cancellation policy. Families will be charged a fee if they fail to give reasonable notice that they are unable to attend a scheduled appointment. Families with successive cancellation notices may have their scheduled appointment reallocated to another client on our wait list.

Rebates
Private Health and Medicare rebates typically cover only part of the full cost of a session.
Private Health Fund Rebates
- Families may be paid a rebate from their health fund if they have extras cover including speech pathology services.
- Electronic health claiming is available for most private health funds at our West Burleigh Clinic so parents need only pay the gap. Find out if your fund participates.
Medicare Rebates – Chronic Disease Management (CDM)
- Children with chronic conditions and needing team care may be deemed eligible for this program by their local Doctor. A specific referral is required.
- A rebate for only 5 sessions per calendar year is available.
- Parents need to present the referral letter at the time of the appointment for all Medicare Rebates.
- Electronic health claiming is now available for Medicare rebates at our West Burleigh Clinic so parents need only pay the gap if they present their Medicare card.
Medicare Rebates – Follow up Speech Pathology Services for People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Descent
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children may be deemed eligible for this program by their local Doctor
- A rebate for a further 5 sessions per calendar year is available
Medicare Rebates – Children with a Disability
- Children with Autistic Disorder, Asperger’s Disorder or another pervasive developmental disorder (e.g. PDD-NOS) as well as children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Fragile X, visual impairment or hearing impairment may be deemed eligible for this program by their local treating paediatrician or psychiatrist.
- A rebate for up to 4 assessment sessions and 20 treatment sessions is available (lifetime limit) although a new referral must be presented for each course of 10 treatment sessions.
- Parents need to present the paediatrician’s referral letter at the time of the first appointment and at the beginning of each course of treatment.
- Children under 7 years of age with an Autistic disorder, Asperger’s Disorder or another pervasive developmental disorder (e.g. PDD-NOS) who have a Letter of Introduction from the Autism Advisor in their state are eligible for up to $12000 of therapy services (to a maximum of $6000 per year).
- Our clinic is registered for this initiative through the Tweed Valley Early Childhood Intervention Service.
- As there is considerable administration, planning time, meeting time, resources, training, specialist skills and team liaison required to provide services under the FaHCSIA initiative, our schedule of fees for these services are higher than our standard fees schedule. - Children under 7 years of age with cerebral palsy, fragile X syndrome, Down syndrome and a moderate or greater hearing or vision impairment including deafblindness, who have a Letter of Introduction from Carers Australia are eligible for up to $12000 of therapy services (to a maximum of $6000 per year).
- Our clinic is registered for this initiative through the Tweed Valley Early Childhood Intervention Service.
